The H.M.E.R., or the Homeland Mobile Emergency Robot (pronounced "Hammer") is a giant robot made by Julius Steel with its first appearance in A New Beginning.

History[]

The H.M.E.R was created for the sole purpose of destroying the Titan and the Mutraddi monsters. Steel also uses the robot to attack G3 in A New Beginning but when three monsters arrive from the Rift Gate he agrees to a truce and attack the monsters. Steel's new found confidence in the robot was short-lived because in A New Beginning it was destroyed by a Mutraddi monster.

Appearance[]

The H.M.E.R is an impressive accomplishment in terms of Earth technology. The H.M.E.R stands nearly as tall as Titan and uses Mutraddi metal as the outer armour. The H.M.E.R is painted a traditional Olive Drab in honor of the U.S military and silver highlights are used for under the armour and gears.

Powers and Abilities[]

The H.M.E.R is manned by hundreds of army soldiers and is equipped with a large arsenal of powerful military weapons like gatling guns in the hands and missile launchers in the torso.

The H.M.E.R. has many built-in rocket boosters that allowed it to stabilized itself from being knocked down, evasive maneuvers, and use devastating physical blows.

The H.M.E.R is protect by thick armor, doubly enhanced by near-impervious Mutraddi alloy recovered from a Mutraddi ship in Tashy 497.

The H.M.E.R. is also capable of flight, due to the large rocket pack attached to its back.

As a 'trump card' to finish the enemy, the H.M.E.R. reveals a hidden laser cannon in its right arm that is capable of disintegrating the Horned Monster. This laser cannon appears to function separately from the H.M.E.R. as it fired after the arm lands on the ground from being blasted off by one of the Mutraddi Tri Beasts.

Weaknesses[]

Unlike Sym-Bionic Titan's more flexible and agile movements, the H.M.E.R. moves in a slower, jerky, and robotic fashion. This lack of speed, flexibility, and timing reaction of the H.M.E.R. gives a more faster enemy a better chance at attacking it, as shown in its battle against one of the Mutraddi Tri Beasts.

While the H.M.E.R. is protected by the near-impervious Mutraddi alloy, its joints are unarmored. Hitting these said joints would cause the limbs of the H.M.E.R. to break off.

Trivia[]

  • The materials used to make the armor of the H.M.E.R are the same metal that Steel recovered from the rocket that brought Tashy 497 (character) to Earth.
  • It has a certain resemblance with the Mondo Bot of Samura Jack series, in terms of appearance, size and even that both robots can fire huge bullets of their hands.
  • Julius Steel's enthusiastic shouts (particularly: "It's Hammer time!" and "Can't touch this!") might be loose reference to the famous song by M.C. Hammer - "U Can't touch this"
  • It takes an entire power plant to charge the H.M.E.R.'s fuel battery.
  • In the Latin American version, it is called:
    • R.O.T.O.R.: Robot Terminador Orbital de Rescate (Rescue Orbital Terminator Robot or R.O.T.R. in English) in The Steel Foe.
    • Martillo (hammer in English) in A New Beginning.
